Up unitil a few months ago I used the Vosonic 8860 only for backing up my photographs when I was travelling. Since a few months I started to use the Vosonic as a MP3 en MP4 player. It worked perfectly until a week ago, when it suddenly gave an error message that said it couldn't decode the file (video) and I could not close the device down without removing the battery. The next day it worked perfectly again until a few days later it gave the same message also for audiofiles and I again couldn't close the device down without removing the battery. My supplier told me to format the hard drive and then update to the latest firmware, which I did. Unfortunately the problem is not solved after that. Now when I try to open the HD-file it gives the message "Unformat disc". Then it opens the hard drive and I get the folders Backup, Music and Videos. But even a new audiofile that I put on the device will nog be decoded. It is a MP3-file . Please advice

Dear luykenbl,
1.Please use Disk Management to delete disk partition and format the files to "NTFS" via PC then format files to FAT32 on VP8860 and try again. 2.Would you please upload your MP3 files to our FTP server for testing? http://www.vosonic.com/index.php?PA=contactus User Name : vouser Password : vouser65236 Service Center Vosonic Technology Corp. Dear Dr. Vosonic,
I do not dare to delete the partition, because my computer says it is a primary partition (FAT32) and it is okay. What do I do now? By the way do you need the MP3-files the way I had them on the Vosonic 8860 or do you need them after I formatted them to NTFS and then back to FAT32?

Dear luykenbl,
Please upload the files to FTP first then do the format. Q : I do not dare to delete the partition, because my computer says it is a primary partition (FAT32) and it is okay. What do I do now? A : Yes, because the HDD might have bad sector, so you have to format it via PC. Service Center Vosonic Technology Corp. TEL/ +886-3-5557745 -ext .110/104/108 Mail :
